Number 9’s Complete Recording Course is our full offering of audio recording techniques and theory, entirely one-on-one and hands-on. The classroom is a real recording studio, the instructor a working engineer. The program is built on a modular curriculum arranged to work around your schedule.

We’ve developed a strategy for learning in a professional environment to supply practical know-how alongside institutional theory.  After completing our audio engineering courses, you will be well on your way to becoming an industry professional.

What Elevates Us Above The Competition: 1) Our course is hands on, one-on-one instruction in one of Toronto’s top recording studios. 2) Our instructors are among the most renowned and qualified audio engineers in Toronto, with years of experience in the music industry. 3) All lessons take place in our world class, state-of-the-art Studio A – the same studio we use for professional audio recording for a variety of high profile clients. 4) After course completion, students have the option to intern and assist on professional recording sessions.  Additionally, graduates receive a significant discount on studio time if they wish to bring in their own projects to record. 5) All students receive “hands on” experience on real recording sessions.  In fact, the final examination requires the student to bring in a band to record, mix and master! 6) We don’t just say we’ll help you find work when you complete the course – we really do it. 90% of our students are  working in the industry, and some or them are working right here at Number 9.

Course Details

All students are subject to an introductory interview before being accepted to the program.  A Grade 12 High School education is strongly recommended, but not required.

A certification diploma is received upon completion of the course.

In the recording industry there is no higher acknowledgement for learning the craft of audio recording engineering than being tutored in a world class recording studio. That is, of course, exactly what we offer.  No other recording course offers anything comparable to the hands-on experience given at Number 9’s complete recording course.

*Installment plans can be arranged for a nominal financing and administration fee.

Due to the one-on-one nature of the program, enrolment is limited.  The course generally takes between 6 to 8 months to complete, but has been known to exceed 12 months dependent on the frequency of attendance.
